Equipment officer of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China(MIIT), ZHANG Xiangmu announced encouraging news, during the 2nd global automobile forum regarding the new-energy vehicle industry plan’s future. The plan has now been drafted and sent to the Chinese State Council for approval.

This plan was unfolded in August, 2010. However no exact timetable has been released. It is reported by the Economic Observer that stakeholders have yet to reach agreement on issues such as if pure electric vehicles are the only pillar for new-energy vehicle development or whether hybrid vehicles should benefit from the support policy or the subsidy.

ZHANG Xiangmu confessed to the press that MIIT has completed its role in the drafting and it is up to the State Council to modify or publish.
