Plans for the first electric vehicle produced in cooperation by the German and Chinese automakers have leaked to the internet. The car, which will be sold solely within China, is still in the early stages with a release planned for 2013. The first product of the German-Chinese partnership is expected to aim at affordability and quality, providing a viable electric option for the Chinese market. The car will be composed mainly of German-engineered components but utilize a lithium-ion battery developed by BYD.
