Several of Europe’s most significant automakers, the Renault Nissan Alliance, PSA Peugeot Citroën and Mitsubishi, have joined forces to develop a common charging standard in Europe. The automakers will develop this standard on the basis of the EV Ready program, which aims at setting specific requirements for automakers to ensure infrastructural compatibility across Europe. The EV Ready program’s network already consists of energy providers, charging station suppliers and electric vehicle manufacturers from over 60 countries across Europe. The participating automakers will monitor developments in international standards for electric vehicle charging modes and electrical connectors to facilitate interoperability and constant evolution.
