The European Union has announced the formation of a new €80 billion program aimed to boost innovation and competitiveness in Europe, Horizon 2020. A third of this programs funds will go towards climate-related work, including: cleaner energy; greener transport; climate action; and sustainable agriculture. The announcement marks a significant commitment on the EU’s behalf towards developing low-carbon, energy-efficient technologies which will help to ensure a sustainable future.
