The Eco Urban Living initiative hosted a free screening of film festival hit documentary No Impact Man on the evening of Thursday, March 1st, 2012 at the Aalto Design Factory, located near Aalto University’s Otaniemi campus. The screening gave Otaniemi’s eager student community to learn more about how the Eco Urban Living initiative aims to shape their futures, helping to ensure that sustainable, environmentally friendly technologies are integrated into every aspect of residents’ lives.

In a display of the Aalto student community’s strong dedication to the environmental challenges facing our society, the evening drew a capacity audience keen to take part in the Eco Urban Living initiative’s efforts. In addition to offering the gathered audiences an introduction to the Eco Urban Living initiative’s strongly community-driven approach, the evening’ s film contributed practical examples of the kinds of small changes each one of us can make to our lifestyles and habits to help pave a path towards sustainability. Following the film’s conclusion, the room was filled with the buzz of spirited discussion as students contemplated the evening’s program and what this could mean for their futures.

The evening also saw the launch of a contest which would give one lucky winner the opportunity to test drive the fully electric, Think City EV for one week. The winner of the contest will get a chance to experience the future of urban transit first-hand, seeing just how well suited EVs are to the demands of the ever on-the-run students and residents of the T3 area.
